Dr. Dimi Barot (Founder and Chief Executive Officer) graduated from a 7- year Honors Program in Medicine in 2001. He continued to the top-ranked University of Miami Neurology Program and was fellowship-trained in sleep medicine via the Yale University School of Medicine. He subsequently returned to Hampton Roads as the first sleep fellowship-trained specialist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Within five years of starting his own sleep medicine practice, Dr. Barot had already been named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and was repeatedly honored with the Patients' Choice Award, America's Top Physicians Award and America's Most Compassionate Physicians Award.
Dr. Barot is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in both Neurology and Sleep Medicine and is on the Board of Visitors of Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he has also been promoted to Associate Professor. He was elected the youngest Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the youngest Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). He has published articles in national journals and chapters in authoritative textbooks on sleep medicine. In 2012, Dr. Barot transitioned from full-time clinical practice to start his own sleep management companies, including Arima Health (www.arimahealth.com), with the goal of managing sleep and its relationship to overall health.
Dr. Barot serves on the Board of Directors at the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trustees at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, Board of Directors at TowneBank, and served on the Economic Development Authority in his home city of Suffolk, Virginia.
